Pastor Search and Governance Change
As the elders seek God's direction, we will do our best to keep you updated with the process of seeking and selecting a new pastor for Calvary. At this time, there is not much to share as the Elders are working through a job description for the position.
Here is the proposed constitutional change for you to look over if you enjoy reading that sort of thing. Or you can look at this overview that will highlight the items up for change under the proposed structure.
Please be in prayer with us as we seek God's direction for Calvary Baptist Church. Now as we begin looking at a movement from a Sr. Pastor lead to a group leadership structure. And then pray for the future as we begin looking for the right person for this place.

Also, here is a more in depth biography on Dr. Bruce Ware who will be joining us this Sunday.
Dr. Ware is a highly esteemed theologian and author in the evangelical world. He is currently Professor of Theology at Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky. Prior to this, Dr. Ware served as Associate Professor and Chairman of the Department of Biblical and Systematic Theology at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School. Prior to this, Dr. Ware taught at Western Conservative Baptist Seminary and Bethel Theological Seminary.
Dr. Ware has earned degrees from:
- A.S., Judson Baptist College
- Cert., Capernwray Bible School, Carnforth, England
- B.A., Whitworth College
- M.Div., Th.M., Western Conservative Baptist Seminary
- M.A., University of Washington
- Ph.D., Fuller Theological Seminary
In addition to this, just this past November, Dr. Ware was elected President of the Evangelical Theological Society. In regard to this election, Russel D. Moore, dean of the School of Theology at Southern Seminary stated, "Bruce Ware's election by the Evangelical Theological Society is a recognition by his peers of his status as one of the preeminent theologians in the contemporary era".
And finally, Dr. Ware is chairman of the elders at his church and their church has recently adopted a plurality of elders model governance.
