What do people want to know about Torrid?
- I'm thinking about coming to something…..what should I go to?
Really, you are more than welcome to come to anything we do at Torrid. But there are a few activities we'd lean toward if you're coming for the first time.
Monthly Events: We have events pretty much every month which are tons of fun. They range from Dart Wars to our Mystery Dinner to an Overnighter at High Velocity. You will need a permission form to attend any event, but they are a great opportunity to meet us.
Torrid: We meet most Wednesday nights during the school year from 7-8:30. It's a high energy night filled with stupid games, time to hang out with friends, music, a lesson, and a snack.
Service Projects: Sometimes its nice just to do something for other people. We regularly go to Gleaners to pack food for families in need. We'd love to have you join us.
- What do I need to go to an event?
You would need a permission form to attend any event. We use a year long persmission form which goes from August 1 to July 31. Once you fill out the form, we will put it on file for the rest of the year.
Some events require different things. You may need money or special equipment (flashlight, change of clothes) depending on the event.
- Where do I go?
We start and end almost every event from Calvary Baptist Church located at 43065 Joy Rd, Canton, MI 48187.
Once at the church we typically meet in room 303 unless otherwise noted. Best way to get there is to go to the back of the building (where most of the parking lot is), there you'll find an emergency exit door. Head up those stairs and you'll be in the right place.
- What do I do when I get there?
If you're coming for an event, you'll want to register, turn in your permission form, and then hang out til we're ready to start. If you're joining us for Torrid on Wednesdays, come on in and look for your friends. There's also an Info Card (half sheet of paper) we'd love for you to fill out which will get you on our mailing list for a calendar and other information.
